FAQs

We are not contracted with any insurance plans and do not bill for insurance at this time. However, we do provide a service summary, upon request, with appropriate diagnosis codes and procedural codes that can be submitted to insurance. Conventional labs ordered by a naturopathic doctor, in licensed states, are often covered by PPO insurance plans. Medicare does NOT cover services or labs ordered by a naturopathic doctor.

The first visit typical lasts 60-90 minutes. The doctor spends a considerable amount of time reviewing your in-depth paperwork prior to the visit, so all paperwork must be completed ideally 24 hours prior to the first visit. A significant amount of time is also spent investigating and developing an appropriate plan after the first encounter. Follow up visits usually last 30 minutes. A credit card is required to be held on file in order to book an appointment. You can expect to spend $250-$600 on the first two visits, which often includes treatment. For complex cases, you may be spending another $200-$1000 in specialty labs. Follow up visits are more frequent, initially, until health is restored.

We do not apply a “band-aid” approach to healthcare. Some symptoms can be addressed with a quick fix and we will always provide you with that option when it is appropriate. It takes time to understand the problem. There are many factors that can influence your particular symptoms, such as your family medical history, the environment (toxic exposures) you grew up in or currently live in, the type of foods you eat, the lack of nutrients absorbed, your stress level, what your internal environment looks like (microbiome), your temperament and so on. All of this is taken into consideration. Because all these factors may play a role, there is no single protocol that will work for every patient. Each treatment plan will be different for everyone.

A charge of 50% will occur for same day cancellations. We charge 100% for no shows as this reimburses the staff’s time and covers the cost of maintaining the practice. Please kindly provide us with 24-48 (business) hours of advanced notice if you feel you may need to cancel an appointment.

Internet, WiFi or cellular is necessary for telehealth appointments. The telehealth platform used is HIPAA compliant, meaning it is secure and allows for privacy. Phone appointments are also available.

This is an opportunity to get to know the doctor and ask specific questions you may have about the practice. It is important to know if naturopathic medicine is the right approach for you. If there are times in the schedule that do not work for you, please call 949-844-7374. We can provide treatment or recommendations during this call.
